Consistency Rating & Tiers
Your consistency rating (0-100, starting at 50) tracks how steady your public positions are over time — separate from what your positions are.
What moves it
Reversing your stance history on an issue, withdrawing your signature from a petition you signed, or switching your vote on a national event all apply a flip-flop penalty. Voting against an active Three-Line Whip applies an additional penalty on top of the ordinary one. Sustained, unreversed positions let your rating recover over time.
The five tiers
Your rating places you in one of five tiers, each carrying its own gameplay effect:
| Tier | Rating | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Political Mercenary / Chaos Agent | 0+ | Scandals affecting you occur twice as often |
| Opportunist / Flip-Flopper | 15+ | Incumbent seat safety takes a retention penalty |
| Maverick / Independent Mind | 40+ | Independent (no-party) candidacies get a momentum bonus |
| Pragmatic Regular | 70+ | Neutral — no bonus or penalty |
| Party Loyalist / Ideologue | 90+ | Discount on Party War Chest subsidies you receive, and on the CC cost of party-affiliated petitions you create |
Streaks
Holding a tier continuously (not just touching it briefly) builds a streak, tracked from the moment you enter the tier. Two achievements — The Iron Pillar and The Free Radical — are awarded for maintaining the Party Loyalist and Maverick tiers for a full election cycle. Dropping out of the tier, even briefly, resets the streak.
