Taking a Stance on an Issue

Issues are individual policy questions (tax, healthcare, defence, and more) that you record a position on.

Recording a stance

Open any issue from the Issues page and choose the stance option that best matches your view — each issue has its own labelled range from one end of the debate to the other.

Stance history

Every time you change your stance on an issue, your previous position is kept in your stance history rather than overwritten. This means your political journey is visible over time, not just your current snapshot.

Not every issue affects the compass

Some issues are explicitly excluded from the political compass calculation — they still matter for your public profile and manifesto, but don't pull your compass position in either axis.
