Terms of Service

DPS Politics is a service provided by DPS Computing Limited (company number 12072722), a company registered in England and Wales, trading as DPS Apps. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of DPS Politics.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or otherwise using DPS Politics, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the service.
2. Relationship to Our General Website Terms
These Terms are specific to the DPS Politics service and should be read together with DPS Computing Limited's general website terms and conditions, available at www.dpscomputing.com/terms, which cover matters such as website copyright, links to third-party websites, and general disclaimers. Where these Terms and the general website terms conflict on a matter specific to the DPS Politics service, these Terms take precedence for that matter.
3. Description of Service
DPS Politics is a fictional political simulation game. Parties, elections, national events, bills, and all other in-game content are simulated for entertainment purposes only. Nothing in the service represents, endorses, or is affiliated with any real-world political party, candidate, government, or organisation, notwithstanding that certain real-world public data (such as constituency or MP information) may be used for simulation flavour.
4. Account Registration & Eligibility
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials confidential. You must verify your email address before participating in votes or party activities. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
5. User Conduct
You agree not to use multiple accounts to manipulate votes, elections, or Citizen Capital balances; not to harass other users; not to attempt to disrupt or circumvent the game's security or anti-bot measures; and not to use the service for any unlawful purpose.
6. Citizen Capital, Tiers & Payments
"Citizen Capital" and any other in-game currency, balance, or resource — including a party's treasury ("war chest") balance, even where it is funded by real-world donations — have no real-world monetary value once credited to an account or party, cannot be exchanged, redeemed, or cashed out for money under any circumstance, and are non-transferable between accounts. This applies regardless of whether the balance was earned through gameplay or purchased or donated with real money.
Certain paid tiers, appointments, and party donations are processed via Stripe. All sales are final. Except where required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable, including where an account is suspended or terminated for breach of these Terms. Your subscription status is managed through your account and reflected in the game; you can manage or cancel a subscription from your profile or the billing portal, but cancelling does not entitle you to a refund for any period already paid for.
7. Intellectual Property
All software, design, and content that make up DPS Politics (excluding user-submitted content) are owned by or licensed to DPS Computing Limited. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as your profile biography or party manifesto) but grant DPS Computing Limited a licence to display it within the service.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, including for conduct described in Section 5. You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time by contacting us.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
DPS Politics is an actively developed, beta service. While every reasonable effort is made to keep the service available and operating as described, we do not guarantee uptime, availability, or that any specific feature will operate without interruption or error — the service, its features, and how they behave may change at any time. Current service status is posted at our maintenance status page.
DPS Politics is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DPS Computing Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including any loss of in-game progress, Citizen Capital, or virtual items.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England, and you hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
